I recently had the opportunity to test a Canon EOS 5D Mark II and I have posted some of my results. Although the 5D II doesn’t look like a pro digital camera it certainly has Pro Digital image quality. I was especially impressed with the high ISO image quality of the 5D II. The 5D II at ISO 1600 is the equivalent to my 1D Mark III at ISO 400. I also don’t think the focus capability is as bad as some people claim. I was impressed by the 7D’s image quality but I honestly feel the 5D II has the 7D by at least a stop.

An HDR Composite, all three images from the EOS 5D Mark II

A very nice black and white version I love black and white for scenics

This is the full color HDR version 4 total images used in this HDR

This image was done at ISO 1600 under stage lighting
Hi All, I covered the HighBall Halloween Masquerade on High this year . Ok I can hear you know, what is the HighBall? The HighBall Halloween Party is a cross between Carnivale and Mardi Gras with a pinch of Halloween and a healthy splash of the Short North’s artistic spirit. It was held in the Short North on High Street between Fifth and Third Avenue.
I have created a web photo gallery if you would like to see more.

Hey all, I almost forgot to post my thanksgiving shots for the year, my Nephew Dino wants to be a cook when he grows up. He prepared the dishes you see in front of him and others as well. That might explain his apparent unwillingness to share any of the leftovers with anyone as documented in this photo. continue reading…
How many nephews does it take to turn the bacon? If you go by this photo definitely more than two. Had a huge Christmas breakfast and then a fantastic Christmas dinner. I really enjoyed spending time with my family this Christmas and I am looking forward to the New Year… Merry Christmas everyone….

Well, I have the UPS Guy the Cheese Cake Lady and now the Computer Guy. Bill stopped by the shop so we could run diagnostics on two of his machines so when the work was all done I told bill I had to test my light set up. I wanted to make sure he looked like a computer guy, which he is, so we loaded him up with computer parts.
I used a 4 light set up for this photo, the main light was a WL X1600 with a 22” beauty dish directly above the camera, 4X7 soft box camera right for fill, large white camera left for fill, X1600 rear camera right with a 20 degree reflector to light the hair and add a little dimension to the subject and then last a X1600 directed to the background to turn it white.
The Ohio State Buckeyes appear to be the new No. 1 college football team in the nation for the second time this season. Saturday night was an exciting night of college football as No. 1 Missouri and No. 2 West Virginia both lost in their last game of the college football season.
